Scholarship applications for fall 2021 at Hill College are now open. The deadline to apply is June 1.

Award amounts for available scholarships range from $500 to $2,500. To receive an institutional scholarship, a student must have completed high school or received a GED and have at least a 2.5 GPA. High school and transfer students interested in attending Hill College can complete the scholarship application after applying for admission to Hill College and completing the FAFSA.

Approximately 91 scholarships are available for students to apply for. The Bob Bullock Foundation Endowment Scholarship is available for any student (whom is a US citizen) with financial need, and the Career/Technical Scholarship is available for students enrolled in a technical program at Hill College. Several scholarships are also available for students pursuing a nursing certificate or degree such as the Hill Regional Hospital Auxiliary “Pink Ladies” Scholarship, which is for nursing program students who live in Hill County and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Students can learn more about all available scholarships on the Scholarship Opportunities web page at https://hillcollege.academicworks.com/.

Once a student completes their Hill College admissions application and receives their MyRebel login information, they can apply for scholarships by clicking the red ‘Sign In’ button in the top right corner of the Scholarship Opportunities web page linked above. Once a student logs in with their MyRebel login credentials, they will be taken to the General Scholarship application, which will automatically submit applications to every scholarship the student qualifies for. Additionally, after completing the General Application, they will receive a list of any scholarships that require additional information that is not included in the General Application.

Hill College Director of Development Leigh Ebner encourages students interested in applying for scholarships to do so well before the June 1 deadline.

“Try to complete the requirements several days prior to the deadline,” she said. “Also, do not rush through completing any short answer or essay questions, and be sure to check them for any spelling or grammatical errors. It is always a good idea to have someone else read your essay to be sure that you are communicating everything that you are trying to convey to the scholarship committee.”
